davec Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 is there any way of putting a manual switch to fire up booster heater car is freezing for kids having leathre seats and i dont like leaving it running. You could fit a timer but we have analogue clock and it is nearly out of warranty so I thought a switch and relay might be simpler Quote
NikpV Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 how about in parallel with the external temp sensor (on passenger wiper linkage) Quote

Keithb Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 how about in parallel with the external temp sensor (on passenger wiper linkage) will give it a try weekend don't like keys in engine running bye bye car saga That sounds a great idea if it works. However, doesn't the engine need to be running to pump the coolant aroundor is it not connected to the main radiator? KeithB Quote
NikpV Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) how about in parallel with the external temp sensor (on passenger wiper linkage) will give it a try weekend don't like keys in engine running bye bye car saga you'll still need engine running - switch in parrallel with temp sensor will just ensure it runs when warmer than the 5-10 degrees cut in temp cant you run the car with one set of keys and lock it with another? you canget a mains powered heate/pump in the circuit thoughwhich will get it warmed up first, thought that threading the car keys on to the cable would stop anybody driving it off with the cable still attached <_> Edited March 13, 2007 by NikpV Quote

davec Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) The timer used to be an option so a pump should be available, have to pop up andsee parts man. Edited March 14, 2007 by davec Quote
